One of the most common reasons people give for studying English is that they love to travel. In fact, English is often the common language uniting travelers from around the globe, and as the tourist industry often caters to English speakers, it can be a must-have whether reserving train tickets, a nice table at a restaurant or a hotel room.

Una de las razones más frecuentes por las que la gente dice estudiar ingles es la amor por viajar. De hecho, suele ser Inglés el idioma que une a los viajeros alrededor del mundo. When we want to write a resigning letter there are many things we have to take into account. First, you have to express how thankful you are with the company for hiring you in the first place. Then, what it is more important is to be simple and clear, try not to write things that aren’t needed or important.

Every year, an estimate of 5.000 pieces of luggage are left behind at airports only in the U.S, that is, thousands of luggage that are not claimed.

We live in a world where every day we encounter more and more stressful situations and sometimes it is hard to handle. I remember years ago that scientists predicted that as technology improved that we would have more leisure time to enjoy ourselves. In my opinion it has had the opposite effect. Anyone who owns a blackberry phone knows it’s impossible to resist opening up your latest emails even when you know that they are from your boss demanding immediate attention and action. In the USA they even have self help groups for those people that are addicted to their phones!!!

Vivimos en un mundo en el que nos encontramos en situaciones cada vez más estresantes que a veces se vuelven difíciles de manejar. Recuerdo que, hace algunos años, la ciencia predecía que a medida que la tecnología  avanzara, las personas tendríamos más tiempo libre. En mi opinión, el desarrollo tecnológico tuvo el efecto contrario.  Si tenés un blackberry,  probablemente te resulte imposible resistirte a la tentación de abrir los e-mails ni bien llegan, aún sabiendo que son de tu jefe y que, seguramente, requieren de tu inmediata atención. En Estados Unidos, ¡hay hasta grupos de autoayuda para adictos al celular!

Although it seems easy, many people have trouble getting their complaint across in a proficient and concise manner. Here, I will show you the basic guidelines to writing a proper letter of complaint in a professional setting.

Sea que tenga un problema con su jefe o simplemente necesite mostrar su insatisfacción a alguien en un ambiente profesional (laboral) es necesario saber como escribir una carta de queja en forma correcta. Aunque parezca fácil muchas personas tiene dificultad en dar a conocer su descontento y ser concisos a la hora de escribir una queja. Les escribo a continuación una guía de cómo escribir una carta de queja en forma correcta.

A veces sólo tomamos conciencia de la necesidad de preparar la entrevista cuando hemos mentido en el CV sobre nuestro nivel y nos llaman. ¡Horror! ¿Qué hacer?

Si bien es cierto que no se requiere ingles para todos los empleos, lo que sí es cierto es que a mayor nivel de inglés, mayor es la posibilidad de conseguir un empleo mejor remunerado. Por ello, no se trata de que sólo prepares la entrevista sino que aprendas a hablar inglés con cierta fluidez.

Un currículum vitae que dé resultados, sea en inglés o en cualquier otro idioma, consiste en tener los elementos que más interesan al empleador cuando están buscando un profesional para ocupar un determinado puesto de trabajo.
